Atopic skin is irritable, dry and itchy. This itchiness induces scratching which gets in the way of a good night’s sleep and can have a negative impact on quality of life. Eucerin AtoControl Balm is a daily-use body balm specially formulated with deeply moisturising ingredients to soothe and intensely hydrate irritated and itchy skin. The light but nourishing oil-in-water balm is enriched with soothing Licochalcone A, Ceramides and Shea butter to repair and strengthen the skin’s barrier while relieving dryness and itching. It should also be used alongside Eucerin AtoControl Acute Care Cream and your usual medication during a flare-up. The balm for Atopic Eczema and Atopic Dermatitis provides instant moisture to make skin soft and smooth and, with regular application, skin condition and health noticeably improves. The fragrance-free balm has a light, pleasant texture that absorbs quickly and is non-greasy and non-sticky. Eucerin AtoControl Balm is dermatologically tested for dry, atopic skin. It is safe to use from day one for the fragile skin of newborns and babies. All our daily care products can also be used during a flare-up and should be applied after your medication and/or Eucerin AtopiControl Acute Care Cream.

Immediate itch relief

Eucerin AtopiControl Anti-Itch-Spray instantly cools skin, reducing itching within 60s. Use it to provide immediate and long-lasting relief whenever your skin is itchy – either during a flare-up of Atopic Dermatitis or in the periods between. As it’s not a care product, we recommend you use it in combination with other products in the AtopiControl range. Eucerin AtopiControl Anti-Itch-Spray is also effective on skin that is itchy as a result of Xerosis, Psoriasis and Diabetes.

Sun protection

Atopic skin is particularly sensitive to UVA and UVB rays. For this reason, if your skin is going to be exposed to sunlight, we recommend that you apply a sun protection product after your care product. You only need to add this stage in the mornings. Try Eucerin Sun Creme SPF30 or Eucerin Sun Creme SPF50+ for your face and try Eucerin Sun Lotion Extra Light SPF30 or Eucerin Sun Lotion Extra Light SPF50 for your body.

What is the difference between Eucerin AtopiControl Balm, Eucerin AtopiControl Lotion and Eucerin AtopiControl Cream?

The balm and the lotion are both ideal for use on atopic skin all over the body. They are both effective at soothing skin and supporting its natural barrier function. The choice of which product to use comes down to textural preference: the balm is an oil-in-water formulation and is lighter; the water-in-oil lotion is richer. Some people choose to use the lotion during the winter and the balm during the summer. The cream has a thicker texture and has been specially formulated for use on problem areas such as the elbows and knees.
Is Eucerin AtopiControl Balm suitable for use on children?

Yes, it is suitable for newborns as of day one.
What do you mean by a ‘flare-up’ and ‘the period between flare-ups’?

Broadly speaking, Atopic Dermatitis has two different phases. A ‘flare-up’ is one of the names used to describe the acute, active phase when skin is at its most irritable. It can feel intensely itchy, you may experience a burning sensation and skin can look red, dry and flaky. Between these acute, flare-up phases are periods of time when your skin is relatively calm and less irritated. This period is also known as the non-acute, non-active or interval phase. The length of each phase varies greatly depending on the individual, but products specially formulated to care for atopic skin − such as those in the Eucerin AtopiControl range − can help to extend the period between flare-ups and offer relief during acute flare-ups.
Is Atopic Dermatitis the same as Atopic Eczema?

Atopic Dermatitis and Atopic Eczema are collective terms for inflammatory changes to the skin and they include many different dermatological diseases. Atopic Dermatitis and Atopic Eczema are used to describe the same chronic inflammatory condition.
