About
Body wash for Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic skin can be dry, irritable and itchy and these symptoms are exacerbated by harsh cleansers.
Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil is soap-free and enriched with a high concentration of Omega-3 and Omega-6 Oils to gently cleanse and soothe skin with Atopic Dermatitis. The body wash for Atopic Dermatitis relieves itching and supports skin’s natural barrier. Even with regular washing, skin is protected from further dryness and itching.
The cleansing oil can be used daily during flare-ups as well as during the periods between flare-ups when skin is less irritated.
Eucerin AtoContol Bath and Shower Oil does not contain fragrance and is suitable for adults, children and babies over three months.

Glycine Soja Oil, also known as Soybean Oil, is a valuable lecithin-rich oil with a high content of Linoleic Acid (an Omega-6 fatty acid). It also contains α-linolenic acid, Tocopherols and Phytosterols and is a good source of Omega-3. The high lecithin content results in excellent skin moisturisation as Soybean Oil emulsifies water and binds it into the horny layer.
Can I use Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil on my face?
Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil is a body cleanser. If you are looking for a facial cleaner for skin prone to Atopic Dermatitis we recommend you use Eucerin UltraSensitive Cleansing Lotion.
Will Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil make my skin feel greasy?
No. Atopic skin is extremely dry so it will help replenish your skin but will not leave it feeling oily or greasy.
Is Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil suitable for babies?
Yes, it is fine for babies of three months or older but use as a bath additive rather than applying directly to their skin.
What do you mean by a ‘flare-up’ and `the period between flare-ups’?
Broadly speaking, Atopic Dermatitis has two different phases. A ‘flare-up’ is one of the names used to describe the acute, active phase when skin is at its most irritable. It can feel intensely itchy, you may experience a burning sensation and skin can look dry, red and flaky. Between these acute, flare-up phases are periods of time when your skin is relatively calm and less irritated. This period is also known as the non-acute, non-active or interval phase. The length of each phase varies greatly depending on the individual, but products specially formulated to treat and care for atopic skin − such as those in the Eucerin AtoControl range − can help to extend the period between flare-ups and offer relief during acute flare-ups.
Is Atopic Dermatitis the same as Eczema?
Dermatitis and Eczema are the same thing: collective terms for inflammatory changes in the skin. As such, they include many different dermatological diseases. Atopic Eczema and Atopic Dermatitis are also the same thing.
